The Aldershot Lions Club organise or support local community events, carry out fundraising for and promotion of local Lions Clubs shared activities. Examples of activities include the Message in a Bottle scheme, the annual Funfest Day for families of children with disabilities, Spektrek spectacles/glasses recycling, prostate screening, and the Lions eye health programme. Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organisation with 1.3 million members in approximately 45,000 clubs in 205 countries. The Aldershot Lions Club empowers volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs. Lions are men and women who volunteer their time for humanitarian causes. Founded in 1917 by Melvin Jones, our motto is "We Serve". Fundraising is spent on community projects and all administration is funded through their subscriptions.
