British Red Cross - Wheelchair Hire Service

About

Need to hire a wheelchair? The British Red Cross provides wheelchair hire services across the UK.
They offer comfortable, safe, and reliable manual wheelchairs whether you’re looking for self-propelled or transit wheelchairs. The wheelchairs are suitable for anyone over the age of 5 and are available in a wide range of sizes, with fitted footrests as standard and free accessories such as leg elevators, cushions, and stump supports available to improve your comfort. (Note this replaces the mobility equipment loans service previously available in Aldershot).

To hire a wheelchair, you will need to know:
- Measurements of the wheelchair user at their widest point (usually hips and thighs) and add 1” / 2.5cm for comfort
- Weight of the wheelchair user
- Accessories needed

When your hire period has come to an end, please call British Red Cross on 0300 456 1914 to extend your hire or email them at wheelchaircollections@redcross.org.uk with your preferred collection date to make arrangements for the wheelchair to be returned.

Rushmoor Link Community Directory

Welcome to the Rushmoor Link community directory. This is the place to find very local information about activities, groups and community services. Whether you are looking for support, to improve your health and wellbeing, socialise more, get active, learn something new or find a place to meet, Rushmoor Link is a good place to start.

How to get started. Choose a category. Information is sorted into categories by service or organisation name. The directory focuses on what is available locally through statutory, community and voluntary organisations.

Next step. Once you have hit the category button, scroll through the results. You can use the keyword search to narrow down the information (e.g., dementia, Aldershot, football).

It’s a simple system packed full of information. We recommend you do not use punctuation marks like commas (,) or apostrophes (’).
