Fleet & Farnborough Family History Group

About

Why join the Fleet & Farnborough Group? An added bonus of the Fleet & Farnborough Group is the reference library, which members are free to use. Come as a visitor, or better still, join the HGS and become part of the larger Hampshire Family History community. The Group meetings are either a talk from a speaker on a family history related subject, or a Members' Evening, usually arranged around members' interests or a particular topic request. The meeting is followed by tea/coffee and biscuits, which gives everyone the opportunity to meet and chat with the speaker and each other. This friendly and welcoming group meets at 19.30, on the second Thursday of the month (except August) at the United Reformed Church. Meetings may need to be held on Zoom - please check in advance.

Benefits of HGS Membership: A quarterly Journal, “The Hampshire Family Historian”, which is available either electronically via the website, where it can be read as a page turning document, or as a printed copy delivered by post.
Access to the Members’ Area of the website where you will find data sets not available anywhere else on-line.
The Members’ Area is where you will also be able to find and connect with other members researching the same names as you. The Surname Interests database can be searched for your own entries as well as those of other members.
Free simple searches of information held at the HGS Research Centre near Portsmouth.
Access to Hampshire Family History Indexes by visiting our Research Centre where extensive Hampshire parish baptism, marriage and burial indexes, census records, monumental inscriptions and members’ surname interests are all available to view.
Free attendance at Local Group Meetings which are held monthly offering well-informed visiting speakers, discussion evenings, social events, visits and outings. Members may choose to attend any meeting and do not need to subscribe to a particular Group.

Rushmoor Link Community Directory

Welcome to the Rushmoor Link community directory. This is the place to find very local information about activities, groups and community services. Whether you are looking for support, to improve your health and wellbeing, socialise more, get active, learn something new or find a place to meet, Rushmoor Link is a good place to start.

How to get started. Choose a category. Information is sorted into categories by service or organisation name. The directory focuses on what is available locally through statutory, community and voluntary organisations.

Next step. Once you have hit the category button, scroll through the results. You can use the keyword search to narrow down the information (e.g., dementia, Aldershot, football).

It’s a simple system packed full of information. We recommend you do not use punctuation marks like commas (,) or apostrophes (’).

Spotted a mistake or something is missing? Please do contact us if you are aware that any information is incorrect or missing via info@rvs.org.uk.

If you are looking for information about adult residential care or care at home care, please visit Connect to Support Hampshire. There you can find information about care providers as well as advice and guidance to help you stay safe and well.

Happy searching!
