Hampshire Healthy Families

About

Hampshire Healthy Families have created a number of workshops and courses to support you with your new baby and all the way through to starting school.

Free events, sessions & workshops:
-Family food, Fun & Fitness: for parents and carers of children (aged 1+)
-Ready Steady Mums: local walking groups for new mums, their babies and any family member looking after your baby.
-Five to Thrive New Baby: a 4 week parenting course for first-time and new parents or carers, but may also be recommended by the health visiting team for babies aged 6 weeks to 6 months.
-Baby Talk: a 1.5 hour workshop to help you to discover the importance of talking to your baby from birth and practical ways to help develop their speech and language. For parents and carers of babies 9-24 months old.
-Toddler Talk: a 1.5 hour workshop about children’s speech & language development and communication. For parents and carers of young children (2 years and over).
-Intro to Solids: a 45 minute Zoom workshop led by the Southern Health visiting teams.
-School Readiness: 1.5 hour workshop & 1.5 hour course (4 weeks duration) for parents and carers of children aged 3-5 years old.
-Breastfeeding Support: on Mondays 9.00am-12.00pm at Southwood Clinic, Farnborough. (Please call to book 0300 303 1690).
-Hampshire Healthy Heros: Workshops, resources & toolkit for Registered Early Years Providers in Hampshire to target health awareness.

About Barnardo's (Hampshire Healthy Families)

The Hampshire Healthy Families service work together with Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. This includes a partnership with the school nursing and Health Visiting team. , offering families support and providing better outcomes for families with children aged 0-19. Our service supports community based projects such as: 'Ready Steady Mums' walking groups and health promotion; delivering workshops promoting the 'Five to Thrive' positive parenting approach, enabling children to be healthy and happy. The team also deliver Baby Talk, Toddler Talk and school readiness workshops.
