The Hitting the Cold Spots service is commissioned by Hampshire County Council for Hampshire residents.
Keeping your home warm and your family healthy can be expensive and somtimes difficult. Hitting the Cold Spots Advisors can help you with keeping warm at home and reducing your energy bils.
How the Hitting the Cold Spots service can help in the following ways (may be subject to eligibility):
- Home visits from Advisors offering advice and practical support.
- Help to access funding, where available, for boiler repairs and replacements. Delivered through trusted ‘Buy With Confidence’ contractors.
- Support with temporary electric heaters if you are without heating.
- Eligibility check for the Warm Home Discount and local energy efficiency schemes.
- Assistance to switch your energy provider or tariff to help you save money on your fuel bills.
- Signposting and referrals for you to other organisations, such as: benefits and debt advice, home safety visits and healthy living services.

The phone advice line is open to all Hampshire residents. Some services have eligibility criteria and the advisors will be able to talk through the best possible solution for each caller.

About The Environment Centre

The Environment Centre is an independent charity which aims to reduce carbon emissions, encourage sustainability, improve air quality and help people keep warm and well in their homes. In order to achieve their aims they provide advice, deliver outreach and training, carry out data analysis and mapping, and manage practical projects. They support others to take action including voluntary groups, charities, schools, businesses, and local government. They have worked on a diverse range of local, national and European projects from fuel poverty, air quality and waste minimisation to best practice in behaviour change, sustainable construction and peak energy demand reduction.
