Minibus Hire (Hart & Rushmoor community organisations)

About

Rushmoor Voluntary Services (RVS) operates the Rushmoor and Hart Community Transport Scheme, providing accessible minibuses for hire to community groups. There are a range of accessible minibuses with up to 16 seats available for hire. Four vehicles are fully accessible with either a tail-lift or ramp fitted. One vehicle has step access only.

Bookings can be made by phone or email. Community groups wishing to hire RVS minibuses must register with RVS as a member organisation.

Eligibility to drive an RVS Minibus - Drivers must be over 21 years and held a suitable licence for 2 years. If you are over 70 years you can drive a minibus providing you have obtained a medical certificate and have requested a D1 to be retained on your Driving Licence. It is a requirement that all drivers of RVS minibuses hold a current MIDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) Certificate. MIDAS training can be provided by RVS, so do enquire about upcoming training courses.

Do you need a MIDAS trained Driver? - RVS may be able to provide a MIDAS trained driver from their pool of volunteer drivers. The charge for this service is £15.00.

Rushmoor Voluntary Services (RVS) are members of the Hampshire CVS Network, an alliance of 8 local organisations covering 11 districts, who work together to help Hampshire’s voluntary sector to succeed and flourish. Their role in the community is to champion volunteering and to help and support any charitable, voluntary or community group or social enterprise (VCSE) benefitting the Borough of Rushmoor. RVS delivers projects and services that are of community benefit which include Blooming Marvellous, Home Help, Community transport for Rushmoor & Hart, Accessible transport for Rushmoor & Hart residents, Thames Valley Positive Support and befriending & buddying for older residents in Rushmoor. They cover areas in Aldershot, Farnborough, North Camp and Blackwater Valley in the Northeast corner of Hampshire.

User Cost/Charge Information
Hire charge is £60 per day, inclusive of 30 miles of travel. Additional miles are charged at £1.30 per mile.
