Phyllis Tuckwell

About

Phyllis Tuckwell provides Hospice Care for patients and families living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer, heart, lung or neurological disease.
It offers a range of support including medical and clinical care, therapies, counselling, pastoral care, social work advice and practical support for adult patients and their families and carers, as well as education and training for other local healthcare providers. Its services are run by multi-disciplinary teams, who provide support on its In-Patient Unit in Camberley, Beacon Centre in Guildford, office facility in Farnham, and in patients’ own homes across West Surrey and North-East Hampshire.

Its key services include:
Living Well – helping patients to manage living everyday life with their illness
Care at Home – caring for patients at home, including at the end of life
In-Patient Unit – 24 hour symptom management and end of life care
Carer and family support – because illness impacts the whole family
Bereavement support – through individual and group sessions
Training & education – for local healthcare providers, including GPs and care home staff, as well as Phyllis Tuckwell staff.
If you would like to find out more about the care and support that Phyllis Tuckwell offers, you are welcome to come along to its Living Well drop-in coffee afternoons, which are held on the first and third Thursday of every month, from 1.30pm to 3pm, at the Beacon Centre in Guildford. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to greet you and answer any questions you may have, in this relaxed and informal setting.

About Phyllis Tuckwell

Phyllis Tuckwell is the only Hospice Care service for adult patients, and their families and carers, across the whole of West Surrey and part of North-East Hampshire.
Every day it supports over 250 patients, relatives and carers, and provides all of its services for free, but as the NHS/Government usually only covers about 20% of its costs, it has to raise over £25,000 a day to do this.
Phyllis Tuckwell is currently building a new state-of-the-art Hospice on its existing site in Farnham, which will enable it to care for more people who need its support. During the project, it will continue to offer its specialist services from alternative locations. Its In-Patient Unit has been temporarily relocated to a care home in Camberley, and its community support is managed by its community teams working from the Beacon Centre in Guildford and a temporary office facility in Farnham, where its support staff are also located for the duration of the build. Outpatient appointments and Living Well sessions will continue to run at the Beacon Centre.

Rushmoor Link Community Directory

Welcome to the Rushmoor Link community directory. This is the place to find very local information about activities, groups and community services. Whether you are looking for support, to improve your health and wellbeing, socialise more, get active, learn something new or find a place to meet, Rushmoor Link is a good place to start.

How to get started. Choose a category. Information is sorted into categories by service or organisation name. The directory focuses on what is available locally through statutory, community and voluntary organisations.

Next step. Once you have hit the category button, scroll through the results. You can use the keyword search to narrow down the information (e.g., dementia, Aldershot, football).

It’s a simple system packed full of information. We recommend you do not use punctuation marks like commas (,) or apostrophes (’).

Spotted a mistake or something is missing? Please do contact us if you are aware that any information is incorrect or missing via info@rvs.org.uk.
