About

Stepping Stones DS provide a wide range of educational, physical and social activities and services for children and young people with Down syndrome, their families and the professionals involved in their care.
Support is available to families living in the catchment area of North/North East Hampshire, parts of Berkshire and Surrey (full details on the website).

Pre-school age: Sensory Suite sessions. Early development groups supported by a speech and language therapist.
Primary school age: Dance & Drama sessions.
Secondary school age: Dance sessions. Tennis sessions.
16 years +: Social communications group.
Parents/Carers: Stay & Play sessions - time for parents and carers to get to know each other and pre-school age children can join too.

Training sessions for parents/carers and professionals related to supporting children and young people with Down syndrome.

School outreach service: Mainstream School Outreach provides schools with support and advice on including and educating a child, or young person, with Down syndrome in a mainstream classroom.

Special School Outreach service provides advice on the learning profile of Down syndrome as well as child-specific observation and recommendations to maximise learning opportunities.

Stepping Stones DS is an extended family of support that helps young people with Down syndrome fulfil their potential by providing opportunities to be social, have fun and learn.
