SUN (Service User Network)

About

SUN is an easy to access community-based support service for adults experiencing difficulties with complex emotions often associated with personality disorder. These emotions can affect how a person feels, copes with life and manages relationships. SUN offers access to regular peer support groups where people can talk about their experiences and offer one another help and advice. Groups are facilitated by a SUN facilitator with mental health lived experience and a clinician.

SUN is available to anyone aged 18 and over who is registered with a GP in Surrey or NE Hampshire. It is for people who: have been diagnosed with personality disorder and who are looking for increased support in the community to help them manage their condition, or who would describe themselves as having complex emotional needs but have not received a diagnosis of personality disorder.

Where are SUN groups held? Following feedback from members, there is a blended model of both virtual and face-to-face groups. Please refer to the website for the latest timetable. The nearest face to face meetings currently are in Woking and Guildford, but an additional meeting venue in North East Hampshire is being explored.

To attend SUN groups, you will need to become a SUN member. The membership form is available via their website.

Rushmoor Link Community Directory

Welcome to the Rushmoor Link community directory. This is the place to find very local information about activities, groups and community services. Whether you are looking for support, to improve your health and wellbeing, socialise more, get active, learn something new or find a place to meet, Rushmoor Link is a good place to start.

How to get started. Choose a category. Information is sorted into categories by service or organisation name. The directory focuses on what is available locally through statutory, community and voluntary organisations.

Next step. Once you have hit the category button, scroll through the results. You can use the keyword search to narrow down the information (e.g., dementia, Aldershot, football).

It’s a simple system packed full of information. We recommend you do not use punctuation marks like commas (,) or apostrophes (’).

Spotted a mistake or something is missing? Please do contact us if you are aware that any information is incorrect or missing via info@rvs.org.uk.

If you are looking for information about adult residential care or care at home care, please visit Connect to Support Hampshire. There you can find information about care providers as well as advice and guidance to help you stay safe and well.

Happy searching!
