The Bobby Scheme (Hampshire & IOW)

About

The Bobby Scheme aims to bring peace of mind and greater safety to the vulnerable (due to disability or previous victim of crime) and elderly (over 65). They wish to ensure confidence and enable people to carry on living independently and to maintain a sense of security within their own home. The scheme will send out a Fitter to conduct a free home visit (they cover Hampshire and the Isle of Wight) to assess home security. When appropriate they can fit the following: Locks; Spy-Holes; Door Chains; Smoke Alarms; Key Safes. The Fitters are uniformed, police vetted and carry ID cards.

Please refer to their website for more information, and to register your interest.

About The Blue Lamp Trust

The Blue Lamp Trust is a non-profit organisation and is headed by a Board of Trustees. The Trustees have varied backgrounds including emergency services, local government, charities and local businesses. The Trust shares its premises with Hampshire Police and Fire and Rescue in Eastleigh, further cementing its relationship with the emergency services. It works with local government, the voluntary sector and health including GPs, social care and charities to spread the message about the Bobby Scheme.

With a mixture of personalised advice and practical assistance, the scheme set out to help victims of burglary and the vulnerable to feel safe again, and at the same time, reduce the risk of repeat crimes. The fitters could replace locks, fit security chains and smoke alarms, and advise the clients on the best ways to keep their homes secure.

Welcome to the Rushmoor Link community directory. This is the place to find very local information about activities, groups and community services. Whether you are looking for support, to improve your health and wellbeing, socialise more, get active, learn something new or find a place to meet, Rushmoor Link is a good place to start.

How to get started. Choose a category. Information is sorted into categories by service or organisation name. The directory focuses on what is available locally through statutory, community and voluntary organisations.

Next step. Once you have hit the category button, scroll through the results. You can use the keyword search to narrow down the information (e.g., dementia, Aldershot, football).

It’s a simple system packed full of information. We recommend you do not use punctuation marks like commas (,) or apostrophes (’).
