The National Gardens Scheme
About
Thanks to the generosity of garden owners, volunteers and visitors the National Gardens Scheme has donated over £70 million to nursing and health charities and in 2023 made an annual donation of over £3.4 million. Their core beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.
The National Garden Scheme doesn’t just open beautiful gardens for charity – they are passionate about the physical and mental health benefits of gardens too. They also support charities doing amazing work in gardens and health and grant bursaries to help community gardening projects.
The National Gardens Scheme is always on the lookout for beautiful new gardens to open, whether it’s rolling country acres, a cottage garden, town garden, wildlife-friendly space or community allotment. They all offer a unique and very personal experience to their garden-loving visitors and help raise money for great causes. For further details on how to open your garden see the 'Get Involved' page on their website.
