About The Whole Hub

The Whole Hub provides an educational support service network of activities, consultancy, liaison and training for local vulnerable children who are unable to access their legal right to a full time education including school, government, local authority initiatives, whether due to anxiety, school refusal or disability, and are at risk of mental health concerns, isolation, and anti-social behaviour. They provide a wide range of programs, resources, and interventions designed to ensure that these students regain their self-belief and sense of self-worth, restoring their relationships with their family and their connection with the wider community. All the activities are designed to promote success, raise self-esteem and a positive attitude to learning.
Activities currently provided: Bi-weekly drop in afternoons, Support groups, Consultancy and advice, wide variety of learning activities, including sports, crafts and games. They support over 900 families in the local area and the number of parent referrals is hugely increasing, so they need to extend their provision by working with more local partners and service providers to host more weekly activities and also pay their staff.
COVID-19: The need for this provision has been exacerbated by COVID-19 when children had an enforced break from school and are now unwilling to return and the parents do not know what to do. As a result of COVID-19 many more young people are suffering from severe anxiety about attending school and families are in crisis as a result.
The difference the project will make: The Whole Hub provides support, time, understanding, freedom, care and a breathing space to help parents and children recover and repair to make positive and supportive next steps so that their child goes on to positively and successfully complete fulltime education. They support and enable parents who are feeling helpless, to make positive choices regarding their child's future. All the provision is focussed on the local area and they have a wide network of contacts throughout the local community who feed into their work.
Social Media: they meet parents and members of the local community throughout the week, they are constantly in contact with their needs via social media and through telephone calls. The Social Media presence is very strong and very supportive. They currently have 800 families who are accessing their services through the Facebook group.
Service Providers: They meet weekly with service providers in the local area to discuss how they can best support their provision for the children and families in crisis.
Steering Group: They have a wider steering group with currently 8 members of the local community and intend to extend this through the next year so they are able to hear as many voices as they can.

Rushmoor Link Community Directory

Welcome to the Rushmoor Link community directory. This is the place to find very local information about activities, groups and community services. Whether you are looking for support, to improve your health and wellbeing, socialise more, get active, learn something new or find a place to meet, Rushmoor Link is a good place to start.

How to get started. Choose a category. Information is sorted into categories by service or organisation name. The directory focuses on what is available locally through statutory, community and voluntary organisations.

Next step. Once you have hit the category button, scroll through the results. You can use the keyword search to narrow down the information (e.g., dementia, Aldershot, football).

It’s a simple system packed full of information. We recommend you do not use punctuation marks like commas (,) or apostrophes (’).
